Featured Speaker: Ken Selody

Ken Selody founded Atlock Farm in 1987 on a portion of his family's turf farm in Somerset, New Jersey, where he was raised. What began as an interest in ornamental horticulture while studying photography in college eventually became a lifelong passion—and one of the country's most respected specialty nurseries.

His fascination with topiaries began during the rise of the English garden popularity here in the States. Inspired by the beautifully photographed gardens and design books coming from Britain, Selody developed a particular appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship of trained plants. Today, Atlock Farm is renowned for its extraordinary collection of myrtle and other topiaries, many of which are grown and shaped by hand over years.

Selody became widely known through his frequent appearances on The Martha Stewart Show and as a contributing editor to Martha Stewart Living, where he shared his expertise in gardening and plant care with a national audience. His work has also taken him well beyond the garden world: Atlock Farm has supplied plants for high-profile events—including a party hosted by Tom Cruise—as well as for Hollywood film productions.

His expertise and passion for topiary have continued to attract national attention, including an appearance on HGTV in 2022.

For more than three decades, Ken Selody has helped elevate topiary from garden ornament to an art form. His work reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, patience, and the enduring influence of the English garden tradition.

At Rooms with a View, Ken will share his expertise and show us how to care for and maintain topiaries, ensuring they remain beautiful and healthy for years to come.
